Water Oak Farms, established in 1995, is a family-owned and operated enterprise. We are located off of State Road 16, between the towns of Starke and Lawtey. Our surrounding community consists of horse and cattle ranching as well as hay production and farming. "Progress", as defined by today's standards of developers, subdivisions, strip malls and the like, has not reached our neck of the woods. We still hold onto and believe strongly in the old traditions of God, Family, Country and Community. Without the help of our family and friends, Water Oak Farms would still be in the dream stage rather than the viable business it is today. We thank all who participated and contributed to the success of our dream.

Our original Santa Gertrudis bull, Sir Lancelot, was purchased from the Gentry Ranch, located outside of Austin, Texas. Mr. Robert Gentry has been raising Santa Gertrudis cattle for over thirty years and is well known within the industry. I thank Mr. Gentry for the wisdom and insight he shared with us when we began building our Santa Gertrudis herd. His counsel allowed us to bypass many of the pitfalls encountered by other upstart outfits. Our new bull, General Stonewall, will be sharing the stud duties and has already produced excellent quality offspring. This year he sired two bull and three heifer calves that have already been reserved for sale. We are confident this bloodline will generate superior animals for years to come.

Our Nubian goat herd was sired by two purebred billies, BooBoo and Whisperer, purchased from a local rancher here in Bradford County. We originally started the goat herd as a hobby for my wife and daughters. When we began receiving orders to purchase our Nubian goats is when I finally realized that we were in the goat business, whether I liked it or not. Since then, we have purchased additional blooded stock in an effort to insure our goal of maintaining the best bloodlines within our goat population. This past Spring we welcomed ten new kids into our herd, all beautifully proportioned and full of promise. We look forward to continuing our tradition of providing to our customers only the best stock that we can produce.

In addition to livestock production and sales, we also grow World FeederTM  hybrid bermuda grass for our use and for sale. This product has an excellent track record of top production, very high protein, drought resistance and high-quality nutritional value for all types of livestock.
